The brief of this project was to remove an outdated kitchen from the basement of this Georgian townhouse, fit a new modern one in the ground floor and convert the basement into a den and spare room.

The ground floor has been strengthened to allow for the weight of the new kitchen appliances. The kitchen units are site-constructed with doors sprayed elsewhere as are the wall mounted shelf units. The worktops are Italian granite, the floor is the existing boards stained to match those elsewhere in the house.

The basement has been damp-proofed with the floors finished with European Oak. The desk and joinery is a combination of oak and painted finish. A shower room has been fitted into an awkward corner of the basement.  The existing flat roof above the basement stair well has a new lantern light bringing increased daylight into the space.
